Do I Need Permit or License for Photography in Illinois
It can be very difficult and time consuming to find out where to purchase a photography allow or receive permission to photograph your wedding photos or engagement session in Chicago.
Fortunately I've taken the guesswork out of which website to visit, how to apply and how much information technology costs to obtain photo permits at many of Chicago's most popular locations for wedding photos or engagement pictures in Chicago.
As of July i, 2019, The Chicago Park Commune – which includes Buckingham Fountain, Grant Park, Millennium Park, Lurie Garden – have begun requiring professional photographers photographing commercial photography (for-profit photography) which includes hymeneals couples, wedding conjugal parties, engagement sessions and family unit portrait sessions, to purchase a photography permit.

In fact, many of the most popular locations throughout Chicago and the Chicago suburbs are as well now requiring photography permits including the Alfred Caldwell Lily Puddle, the Chicago Botanic Garden, the Garfield Park Solarium, the Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Lincoln Park Zoo South Pond Nature Boardwalk (the "honeycomb").
Even Union Station, the Rookery Building and other popular indoor locations for hymeneals and appointment session portraits in Chicago have begun requiring photograph permits to photograph inside.
There are two problems to consider: The required City of Chicago photography location permits and that of copyrighted public sculptures and artwork.
The Urban center of Chicago neither grants nor enforces copyright. Copyright exists solely between the creator of the works and the secondary publisher of that work.
For example, anyone taking photos in Millennium Park can capture images of whatever they like.
